The name came to me one day about a year ago - it’s about a zillennial’s celebration of her culture and love for sharing great food.
Carbae is wholesomeness from real food and advocating for fresh local ingredients wherever possible.
It’s a community project in the metropolis of Miami, with inspirations from halfway across the world.
Folding into the layers of flavors are longings for my roots and pride for staying true to myself yet absorbing hungrily for kindness and connection in this tropical paradise.
Dayum is the transformation - of rawness cured into wonderful sensations that taste like a tight hug wrapped around you.
It’s the loudness of our voice that shouts: our earth matters, and we are choosing to nourish our bodies with fewer plastic products and more ethically produced ingredients.
It’s about supporting small local grocery stores, their owners, and connecting with local farmers so that we can grow together.
Dayum is the sound of satisfaction from tastes so genuine and real that this melting pot of America will be filled again with spices and flavors that make it great.
If you don’t stir this pot, all the stagnation and separation of the layers will go to shit.
Thankful for all the trailblazers in front of me, for bringing authenticity into people’s lives otherwise foreign.
I am beyond excited for all who have flavors of home separated from you by distance and all who are new and adventurous guests to this journey!
